Abstract
Impact of Hurricane Beryl on the karstic environment of the Yucatán Peninsula. The study utilizes real-time GNSS data to monitor water surface elevation (WSE) changes before and after the hurricane and measures pressure variations in wells across the area. A \s well as a groundwater Data Logger, providing long-term barometrically compensated water level and temperature readings, was deployed in selected wells. This device includes a gauge transducer that measures pressure while accounting for barometric influences. Additionally, a slug test was conducted, using the Hvorslev Slug Test method to determine the hydraulic conductivity of the formation surrounding the wells. Through these combined methodologies, the research aims to elucidate how Hurricane Beryl affected hydrological dynamics, well pressure conditions, and the hydraulic properties of the karstic aquifer system.
