Abstract

NOTE: This resource represents the data as presented in R. Gregory’s research, conducted within the Manitou Experimental Forest, a semi-arid montane headwater catchment in central Colorado.

At 62 sample points across the catchment, bucket-type augers were used to collect soil samples at four depths: 10, 30, 50, and 100 cm. Sampling occurred within three landscape units — hillslopes, riparian areas, and alluvial/colluvial fans — to capture spatial variability across topographic and hydrologic settings.

Soil solute extractions were performed on the collected soil samples, and concentrations of major anions and cations were determined using ion chromatography analysis.
