Abstract

Under a bi-national effort between the United States and Mexico, around 130 million cubic meters of water was released from the Morelos Dam over an eight-week period in the spring of 2014. This pulse of water through the Colorado River was planned in an effort to reconnect the Colorado River Delta to the ocean and restore native riparian vegetation along the delta. This project will utilize USGS data to observe the effects of the 2014 pulse flow on groundwater levels in the delta at both temporal and spatial scales.
