Groundwater level and use data from Kansas Groundwater Management Districts 4 and 5 and R notebook for assessment of aquifer water balance method data needs
These files contain the groundwater level and use data employed in the assessment of data needs for a water balance-based method for groundwater resource management presented in Bohling, G.C., Butler, J.J., Jr., Whittemore, D.O., and Wilson, B.B., 2021, Evaluation of Data Needs for Assessments of Aquifers Supporting Irrigated Agriculture, Water Resources Research, WRCR_25235, doi:10.1029/2020WR028320, along with an R notebook implementing the analyses presented in Bohling et al. (2021). GMD4WaterLevels.csv, GMD4WaterUse.csv, and GMD4Boundary.csv contain the water level, water use, and district boundary data for Kansas Groundwater Management District (GMD) 4. GMD5WaterLevels.csv, GMD5WaterUse.csv, and GMD5Boundary.csv contain the corresponding data for GMD5. WaterBalanceSubsampling.nb.html is the R notebook, rendered as an html file. Opening this file in the RStudio (https://rstudio.com/) editor will convert it to a live R notebook, allowing live execution of the contained code. Further details can be found in the supplemental materials for Bohling et al. (2021).
