Abstract
Here are the modeled topobathymetric outputs described in a paper submitted to the journal Environmental Modeling and Software. These are compressed *.tif files. Below is a breakdown of each file name and what that name represents.
3DEP or FABDEM: The source DEM for this tif was either the U. S. Geological Survey three-dimensional elevation program (3DEP) or the Forest and Buildings removed from Copernicus Digital Elevation Model (DEM) (FABDEM) version 1.2 dataset.
BanksBathy or WseBathy: As described in the paper, we used two methods to extract an initial elevation for each stream cell to use for estimating bathymetry. BanksBathy estimates are based upon an estimate of the lowest bank elevation in the stream cross section and is used in tandem with a channel-forming discharge, to estimate the bathymetry. In this instance, our estimated channel-forming discharge was the two-year discharge from the GEOGLOWS ECMWF Streamflow Service version 2. WseBathy estimates are based upon the water surface elevation at the stream cell and are used in tandem with a baseflow estimate to estimate bathymetry. In this instance, our estimated baseflow was the 50th percentile streamflow in the GEOGLOWS ECMWF Streamflow Service version 2 flow duration curves.
Clean or NotClean: The paper describes a cleaning process we undertook in an attempt to improve each DEM prior to estimating bathymetry and adding the bathymetry to the topobathymetric surface. Clean signifies that this process was undertaken. NotClean signfies that the DEM was not cleaned prior to bathymetric estimation.
The Automated Rating Curve (ARC) Version 0.1.1 software was used to estimate two-dimensional bathymetry.
The Curve2Flood Version 0.1.1 software was used to smooth the two-dimensional ARC bathymetry into each DEM.
