Abstract
This resource contains the ESRI shapefiles used during basin delineation of the CAMELS-spat database. CAMELS-spat contains a collection of river basins in the United States and Canada that can be used for model evaluation and improvement. These shapefiles are provided here to increase reproducibility of the data set creation process.

Description
Uncompressed, this resource has two top-level folders: basins
and rivers
. These each contain an ESRI shapefile showing the location of river basins and river networks on the North American continent. Both shapefiles use the EPSG:4326 Coordinate Reference System.
Derivation
This resource is derived from shapefiles published by Lin et al. (2019; https://doi.org/10.1029/2019WR025287). Those shapefiles were updated by Martyn Clark as part of his work on improving coastal hillslope representation in this data set.
