Abstract
The purpose of this demonstration project is to show how to (a) use the ROMS (Regional Ocean Modeling System) data component to estimate hydrodynamic and sedimentary information for a marine environment based on output from a high-resolution 3D hydrodynamic-sediment transport model, and (b) use this information to run the Simple Submarine Diffuser from Landlab to disperse sediment on continental shelves. This use case is for the Beaufort Sea shelf, Alaska, USA. This notebook focuses on providing an example of how to use the data component and other tools; future work will include considering best practices for linking short-term dynamics with long-term shelf evolution.
