Abstract
This HydroShare resource compiles presentation materials and supporting resources for the CIROH Hydrological Briefing & Outlook conducted during Water Year 2026.
The collection includes:
- Monthly briefing slides (PDF format) presented during the CIROH Consortium Monthly Calls
- An Excel file summarizing key resources, including descriptions and access links
These briefings provide a national overview of hydrological conditions across the United States, including:
- Recent hydrological hazards and Local Storm Reports (LSRs)
- Precipitation, and streamflow conditions
- River flood outlooks and short-range forecasts
- Emerging risks driven by extreme weather and seasonal transitions
This resource is designed to:
- Familiarize early career scientists and trainees with operational hydrological products, including forecasts, outlooks, and national-scale monitoring tools.
- Support Research-to-Operations-to-Research (R2X) within CIROH, by connecting briefing materials with emerging tools, datasets, and workflows
- Highlight and introduce CIROH capabilities for water resources applications, through practical examples used in monthly national briefings
- Provide concrete use cases of operational data integration, including precipitation forecasts, flood outlooks, snow information, and drought monitoring
