ABSTRACT:

The purpose of this research is to characterize the isotopic signature of landfalling atmospheric river (AR) events in Lower Mainland, British Columbia. We collected 58 precipitation samples between November 2021 and February 2023. The stable water isotopic signatures of these events are provided in the spreadsheet. In addition, they are also identified as an AR or non-AR which was determined based on the Rutz et al., 2014 MERRA V2 reanalysis ARTMIP catalogue.
Additionally, we also wanted to determine whether these events were manifested isotopically at a watershed scale. We collected surface water samples from the North Alouette River, one of its tributaries and three groundwater wells. The isotopic signatures for each sample collected are also provided in the spreadsheet. The sampling locations are provided in the attached map figure.
