ABSTRACT:
To explore the relationship between snow and streamflow droughts, we compiled a dataset of both and streamflow droughts in the Alps between 1961 and 2020 in 207 catchments. The dataset shared here the result of a newly developed bidirectionnal snow-to-streamflow drought propagation scheme, which identifies which snow droughts were followed by a spring/summer streamflow droughts and which spring/summer streamflow droughts were preceded by a snow drought. Each drought event is associated with information on its location, deficit, duration and timing.
In addition, we provide the code to run the snow-to-streamflow drought propagation scheme, in the form of a simple R function.
All details concerning the format of the data and indications on how to run the code are displayed in the readme file.
