ABSTRACT:
Transects are located in Big Cottonwood Canyon (40.641N, 111.689W). Snow depth transects and density observations were recorded near April 1st in 2022 and 2023. Snow depths were recorded to the nearest centimeter using a probe inserted vertically into the snowpack to the ground surface. 5-point, 1-m spacing depth measurements were taken along each transect at 2-m spacings along the north-south and east-west orientations. Snow densities were taken in varying vegetation environments during snow depth surveys using a federal sampler.
